The Legal Director–Principal of Castle Legal is Tim Browne, a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Business Law and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia. Tim has practised law since 1973, initially in South Africa then in Ballarat since 1988. Tim was a partner of BJT Legal as head of its Business Law department until the end of 2007. That firm was once one of the largest regional legal practices in Victoria, employing over 50 people. More recently, he undertook the role of Special Counsel with the Melbourne Office of Harwood Andrews.
Tim is supported in a commercial sense by Jennifer Hamley, Managing Director of Castle Corporate Pty Ltd. Jennifer started her business career in 1980 with AGC, Australia's leading finance company. She was AGC's first woman promoted with an interstate transfer. Later, as a key executive of an entrepreneurial group, Jennifer was Company Secretary of some 100 companies, including three publicly listed companies, and Group Treasurer responsible for a loan portfolio of some $100 million. After the 1980s and commencing her family, Jennifer started a shelf company business in 1992 which is now known as Castle Corporate Pty Ltd. It was acknowledged as the 11th fastest growing private company in Australia in 2000.
Tim and Jennifer will not automatically take an adversarial or litigious approach to your circumstances. Experience has shown that most problems are better solved, relationships better preserved and funds better employed, by working to find a commercial answer.
