Fees
Costs incurred with Castle Legal Pty Ltd (“Castle Legal”) which require the legal expertise of its Director/Principal, Tim Browne, are calculated on an hourly rate in 6 minute blocks. Tim's charge out rate is $350 per hour (excluding GST). If we anticipate that our fee in the matter will exceed $750.00 (excluding GST and disbursements), at the time of instruction we will provide a Disclosure Statement and Costs Agreement.
The Disclosure Statement outlines the work that will be done for you and the basis of our retainer.
The Costs Agreement covers the hourly rate and provides an estimate of the total costs likely to be incurred in the matter. If during the course of the matter, it appears that the costs will exceed our original estimate we will give you a notice in writing of that fact and provide you with a revised estimate.
However some of Castle Legal's work is done at a fixed rate. The work hardly ever attracts a fee in excess of $750 and usually involves the production of documentation on instructions from and relating to clients of accountants who well understand the nature and effect of the documentation requested. Our standard Disclosure Statement and Costs Agreement are available on our website (castlelegal.com.au) and we will require you to indicate at the place provided in the instruction form that you have read these documents. The fees for fixed rate items are those set out above.
